With a NPK ratio of approximately 4-3-2 and a pH of 7.25, this mealworm frass is a gentle, nitrogen-dominant organic fertiliser with a slightly alkaline pH.
Here are the best plants for this formulation: Cruciferous Vegetables (Brassicas). For example: Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale, Brussels Sprouts. These are heavy feeders that need Nitrogen (4.17%) for leaf growth. Crucially, they prefer a higher pH (alkaline) to prevent a common soil disease called “clubroot.” The pH of 7.25 is perfect for them. Other leafy Greens: For example: Lettuce, Spinach, Swiss Chard, Arugula.
The highest nutrient is Nitrogen, which specifically promotes green, leafy foliage.
Mealworm frass naturally contains Chitin (from insect exoskeletons). Chitin triggers an immune response in these plants, making them more resistant to pests, fungal infections, and root rot.

Herbs. For example: Basil, Parsley, Cilantro, Mint. Similar to leafy greens, herbs require Nitrogen to produce the lush leaves that you harvest.
Establishment of New Seedlings. The Phosphorus (2.70%) helps with early root development, and because it is an organic “slow release” fertilizer, it is unlikely to burn young, tender roots.
Pro-Tip: Since this product contains Chitin (from the mealworm shells), mixing it into the soil before planting triggers the plant’s immune system early, making it tougher against pests from day one.
Caution: Avoid Acid-Loving Plants: Because the pH is 7.25 (Alkaline), do not use this heavily on plants that crave acidic soil, such as Blueberries, Azaleas, Rhododendrons or Camellias, as it may lock out nutrients they need.
How much to mix (Ratios)
New Potting Mix: Mix 1 cup (250ml) of Frass per 30L bag of potting soil.
Small scale: Approx. 1 tablespoon per 4-litres of water.
Existing Plants (Top Dressing): Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons around the base of the plant and water it in immediately.
Liquid Tea (Foliar Spray/Drench): Mix 1 tablespoon into 5 litres of water. Let it steep for 1-2 hours before watering plants.
