The Green Smith Farm Education Offering

Green Smith Farm, a small scale farm, has been approached by university students, on a number of occasions, wanting to do their practicals here, to learn its methods. Green Smith Farm is not a registered teaching facility, rather an organisation willing and able to impart its considerable knowledge on how it applies methods that are sustainable, regenerative, holistic, natural and environmentally friendly, to run as a small scale farm.

Green Smith Farm offers a unique blend of agricultural practices that emphasize sustainability and the provision of fresh, wholesome produce. It proudly rears pasture-raised chickens, resulting in nutrient-rich eggs. While in their food forest and orchard the chickens are pest controllers which naturally help Green Smith Farm to provide a diverse array of fruits and vegetables. Its passion extends to beekeeping, offering raw honey. It also embraces innovative cultivation methods like infused biochar and Tera Preta to enrich their soil. Practical, biological, soil engineering is also known as Agronomy.

Opportunity Statement

Think, Research, Discover, Inspire, Observe and apply yourself. This is where knowledge lives.

Many young people lack practical knowledge about food production, leading to a diminished understanding of sustainable practices and healthy eating. Green Smith Workshop addresses this by providing hands-on educational experiences in natural and regenerative food production techniques.

We would love to explore, with you, the way we do regenerative farming, at Green Smith Farm.

Growing anything starts with

If you make the soil live, you can grow anything.

Soil for Life's, Pat Weatherstone

AGRONOMY.

Agronomy is the science and technology of producing, using, and managing plants and soils for food, fuel, fiber, and land reclamation. It integrates principles from biology, chemistry, and ecology to improve crop yields, enhance quality, and manage environmental impacts. Key areas include soil viability and therefore fertility, plant breeding, and pest control.
